Business Challenge - The assignment was to deliver a future proof payments architecture to take the bank forward and allow seamless integration of new services. This would entail review of 160+ legacy systems that touched the e2e payments journey and of understanding the complexity and interactions of these systems to allow a future model to be produced, while removing redundant processes and operations.
  • Our Role in the Solution - Our consultant was the Payments SME within the programme: Responsible for the analysis and requirements elicitation of all 160+ systems and collating that down to the core functions required of the new platform, plus over 300 daily and periodic reports. He had a key role in functional and non-functional testing, and in developing the migration strategy, the risk assessments and the dress rehearsals.
  • The Outcome - The new platform requirements were created along with the as-is and to-be process flows. The new slimmed-down architecture reduced the TCO and enhanced the business processes and reporting. Fully documented architecture and support manuals were produced.
  • Achievements - Successful delivery of the largest system integration programme in Europe. The migration activities and the necessary resources were clearly defined, with zero impact to customers. Redundant systems, processes and reports were identified and decommissioned.
